Tortoreto by Bike

Tortoreto is entirely crossed by a beautiful cycle path that runs along the seafront and connects the city to the neighboring municipalities: Giulianova, to the south, and Alba Adriatica, to the north.

The track is completely asphalted and is subjected to constant maintenance, moreover, the night route is entirely illuminated with LED bulbs, all this allows lovers of cycling or roller skating, a comfortable use, both during the day and in the evening.

Along the route, about 4 km long, we also find equipped playgrounds, drinking water fountains, an infopoint and fitness areas made available to all lovers of outdoor sports.

A bike ride is often the best way to explore the surrounding area and to experience, observe and perceive all its different nuances.
Pedaling along the seafront, along the cycle path that runs alongside from beautiful palm trees, it is possible to admire the Tortoreto beach with its seaside chalets, the fountain of the Siren and the Monument to the Fisherman; continuing on the cycle path, moreover, it is possible to visit the neighboring municipalities, reaching Giulianova, through a wooden bridge over the Salinello, or heading north towards Alba Adriatica and Martinsicuro.
The environment surrounding Tortoreto is rich in history, nature and rural landscapes, which can be admired along the provincial road at the bottom of the Salinello valley. From here we head inland to immerse ourselves in nature between plains and hills that alternate with each other, between fruit and vegetable crops, groves of oaks, brooms, artificial lakes and beautiful vineyards and olive groves that dominate the hilly landscape of the Settecolli.

Through one of the many roads that, from the bottom of the Salinello valley rise towards the hill, you can reach the ancient village of Tortoreto Paese with its medieval castle and its terraces that dominate the area and offer wonderful views of the surrounding landscape that ranges from the Gran Sasso to the Adriatic Sea.

Tortoreto strongly believes in cycling, in fact, thanks to this particular attention, in recent years, the town has been a protagonist in the Giro d’Italia also hosting the arrival of some stages. This is a great sporting event that animates the whole town.
